Our Future

YWCA

THE OLIVER FAMILY HAS CONTRACTED WITH THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO SELL THEIR HOMEPLACE, THE PIEDMONT YWCA, TO US FOR OUR MUSEUM.

We are thrilled that this opportunity has come to fruition!  Piedmont is RISING again!  This 4,000 square foot building is preserved as it was originally constructed as the first YWCA building in South Carolina.  It is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.  The Union Church (ca. 1878-80) is the interior structure which was moved from Church Street, so the building goes back to the early history of Piedmont Manufacturing Company.  It tells our story, and we are so excited to be able to share this story and building with the public!  We have visions of the restored downtown and village that we can help save.

The officers and the board are working to acquire the funding through grants and donations, including monetary and in-kind, to cover the cost. We expect to know about the grants by the end of February. The family is donating a portion of the appraised cost as well.  So, please consider funding this exciting cause.  PHPS is a 501c3 nonprofit, therefore your donations are tax deductible.  Checks may be sent to PHPS at PO Box 284, Piedmont, SC 29673.

WE NEED YOU TO SUPPORT US IN THIS EFFORT!  THANK YOU FOR LOVING PIEDMONT.
